Blue Jays Shortstop Bo Bichette Has Been Named As The Player Of The Week After Stunning Performance

Bo Bichette is a shortstop for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball (MLB).

The Toronto Blue Jays selected the baseball player with the 66th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

Later, Bichette admitted that he declined four draft offers in order to attend Toronto. Later, on June 17, he agreed to a $1.1 million bonus.

After beginning the season with a.431 batting average through 18 games with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays, he was put on the 7-day disabled list after sustaining an abdominal injury that was later determined to be a burst appendix.

Bo made his way back into the starting lineup shortly before the season came to a conclusion. He finished with four home runs, a batting average of.427, and 36 runs batted in (RBI) in 22 games.

Bo Bichette Parents Are Mariana & Dante Bichette

Bo Bichette was born to Mariana and Dante Bichette in Orlando, Florida. His mother Mariana was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil; Bo’s paternal grandfather was a Chinese immigrant to that country.

His father, Dante Bichette, is a current employee of the Toronto Blue Jays organization and a former professional baseball player in the United States.

His father made his major league debut in 1988 with the Angels, but due to a streaky hitting style, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Dave Parker the following year.

Dante was sent to the Colorado Rockies, a brand-new expansion team, after posting only average stats with Milwaukee. With 21 home runs and a.310 batting average, both of which were personal bests at the time, his father finished the Rockies’ inaugural season.

He also hit his first home run at the newly constructed Coors Field in 1995, a drive against the Mets in the 14th inning that completed the Rockies’ opening-day victory. Dante enjoyed his best season in 1995, but Barry Larkin of the Cincinnati Reds narrowly won the MVP award.

On February 4, 2021, he was reassigned to the Blue Jays organization as a “Special Assistant” to “continue to impact multiple levels of the organization.”

On February 9, 2022, Dante left his position with the Blue Jays to train with his son Bo. Due to the ongoing Major League Baseball lockout in 2021–2022, he had been unable to practice with Bo and had prioritized his family over his career.

Bo Bichette is an American professional baseball shortstop.

Dante Bichette Jr.’s Younger Brother is Bo

In the professional baseball league, Dante Bichette Jr. is an unsigned free agent. The New York Yankees selected Dante in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft.

In Qualifier 4 of the 2017 World Baseball Classic, he represents Brazil. Due to the fact that their mother Mariana is from Porto Alegre, Brazil, Dante Jr. and his brother Bo have represented Brazil in the World Cup.

On April 2, 2018, the player agreed to terms with the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. On February 21, 2019, he was moved to the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Before his rights were acquired, the athlete played in 36 games and was named Atlantic League Player of the Month in April and May. With the Washington Nationals, he agreed to a minor league contract.

Dante Jr. was a free agent after the 2019 season. On December 26, 2019, he re-signed with the Nationals on a minor league contract.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays chose Bichette’s contract on July 29, 2019, and he was called up to the big leagues. On just the second major league pitch he saw that day, he hit his first major league single off Kansas City Royals pitcher Brad Keller. On July 31, Bichette had three hits, the second of which was his first MLB home run, all against the Royals. Following another double on August 7, Bichette eclipsed Carlos Delgado’s previous Blue Jays franchise record and became just the third player in the live-ball era (along with Derrek Lee and Yadier Molina) to record a double in eight straight games. The following day, Bichette made his debut in Toronto and increased his doubles streak to nine games, breaking the previous MLB record. Personal life

Bichette is the younger brother of Dante Bichette Jr. and the son of four-time MLB All-Star outfielder Dante Bichette. He bears Bo Jackson’s name. He is a believer. Due to the fact that their mother Mariana is a native of Porto Alegre, Brazil, both Bo and his brother Dante Jr. have represented Brazil in the WBC.
