Brisbane Lions Forward Joe Daniher Leaves The Game In Rush To Welcome His First Baby

Joe Daniher, a rules player in the AFL who currently plays for the Brisbane Lions, was a member of the Essendon Football Club from 2013 to 2020.

The club took advantage of the father-son rule in 2017 to recruit Daniher, who went on to win the Anzac Medal and the AFL Mark of the Year award for that season. In addition, he was chosen for All-Australian team, which earned him the Crichton Medal.

The son of former Australian Football League fullback Anthony Daniher, who played 118 games for Essendon and 115 games for the Sydney Swans, is an Essendon player who has led the team in goalkicking four times.

In addition to this, Daniher participated in the TAC Cup for the Calder Cannons, played for Vic Metro, was named an All-Australian during the AFL Under 18 Championships, and graduated from the AFL Academy at the Australian Institute of Sport.

He is currently making headlines since he decided at the eleventh hour to be with his partner as she was in the process of giving birth.

Joe Daniher And His Partner Adelle Bougis Are All Set To Welcome Their First Child

That’s right—the professional player for the Australian rule football team is going to become a father for the very first time very soon. Joe hurried back home to be with his partner, Adelle Bougis, so that they might share in the thrill of the occasion.

The head coach of the football club, Danny Daly, stated that they had anticipated that his spouse would give birth in October, but things moved along very rapidly. Around 8:20 in the morning, they received a phone call informing them that she had begun the labor process.

In addition, Joe Daniher, a star forward for the Brisbane Lions, will not be participating in tonight’s AFL semifinal matchup against the Melbourne Demons since he is expecting his first child. This decision was made because Joe Daniher will be attending the birth of his child.

The star forward has decided not to play in the game against the Dees because it is imperative that they win, so that he may be by his partner’s side while she is giving birth.

The Daily Mail reports that the Lions star had traveled to the game on Thursday with the rest of the squad, but at 10 a.m., he was found to be absent. Today, he traveled all the way back to Brisbane from Melbourne via airplane.

Daniher Is Not The First Player To Leave Teammates For Birth Of A Child

Because the 28-year-old athlete is notorious for keeping things to himself, not only some of the other players but also some of the staff were clueless about the fact that the player’s partner was expecting.

He is not the first football player to abandon his colleagues during the championships; the legendary Daniel Bradshaw missed the semifinal match against Carlton in the year 2000 because he was in the hospital giving birth to his child.

According to a later story by Jonathan Brown of Fox Footy, Leigh Matthews, who was the coach of Brisbane at the time, reportedly instructed his players not to engage in risky intercourse in January in order to prevent another finals match from occurring.

In addition, Saint Jake Carlisle did not play for St. Kilda during their final season in 2020 because he wanted to be there for the birth of the couple’s first child together with his partner.

Australian Rules Footballer Married To Partner Adelle?

In a short amount of time, Daniher, a player in the AFL, will become a parent for the very first time. It would appear that Joe and Adelle have no plans to be married anytime soon, despite the fact that they have been together for a number of years.

The fact that they will soon have their first child together has contributed to a deepening of their connection, despite the fact that they are not married in the traditional sense.

In a manner quite similar to this, supporters of the Brisbane Lions have been discussing the circumstances of his decision to forfeit the game in order to prepare for the arrival of a new life into the world.

During a discussion that was taking place on Reddit, one member wrote that they don’t blame someone who would miss a game or final because they were giving birth to their child.

Because they frequently receive conflicting advice on whether or not missing a delivery is worth missing a crucial match, the commentator has even asked the other users if they would miss the birth of their child for a knockout game. This is because they frequently get conflicting advice on whether or not missing a delivery is worth missing a match.

Joe And His Girlfriend Adelle Have Been In A Relationship For Almost Six Years

The fact that the soon-to-be parents were spotted together on the red carpet at the Brownlow Awards in 2017 may indicate that they had been dating for approximately five and a half years at this point.

Even though the facts of how and when they first met have not been made public, it is possible to assume that their connection may have began when he played for Essendon. This is despite the fact that the details have not been made public.

In addition to this, after slamming Gucci with Gaston’s horse and cart at the red carpet event, his partner Adelle looks to be Belle from the Beauty and the Beast story.

However, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne fashion designer Jason Grech was the one who conceived of the shimmering garment.

AFL Brisbane Lions’ Shared Family With Soon-To-Be Mom Adelle

Joe, an AFL player, and Adelle, his girlfriend and soon-to-be wife, are in the process of starting a family together. The joyous news is about to become viral on the internet because the 28-year-old returned back home to be with her while she is in the process of giving birth; as was mentioned before, she is now in labor.

In addition, 7news.com.au reports that Daniher had initially desired to join his father’s first team, but he eventually decided to play for the Lions instead because his current contract would expire after the 2020 season.

As a father-son prospect, he initially chose Essendon over Sydney. When he made his debut for the Bombers in 2013, he became the sixth Daniher to play for the team. He was the sixth Daniher to play for the Bombers.

With his first performance in 1978, Daniher carried on the legacy begun 42 years earlier by his father Anthony, his older brother Darcy, and his uncles Chris, Neale, and Terry, who were all instrumental in establishing the band in the first place.

Early life and football career

Anthony Daniher, a former AFL fullback who played 115 games for the Sydney Swans and 118 games for Essendon, is the father of Daniher.

Daniher is a TAC Cup player with the Calder Cannons, an AFL Under 18 Championship All-Australian while playing for Vic Metro, and an AFL Academy graduate from the Australian Institute of Sport.

AFL career

Essendon (2013–20)

In the 2012 national draft, Essendon selected Daniher with the tenth overall pick, in accordance with the father-son rule. He had the option of being selected by Sydney but opted to sign with the Bombers instead because his brother Darcy Daniher was a player for them at the time. In round 11 of 2013, he made his debut against Carlton. He was one of the finest performers in his second game (round 12 versus Gold Coast), where he also scored three goals overall and kicked his first AFL goal.

In his second season, he made progress in kicking goals, leading the club with 28 for the year, including 4 goals against North Melbourne in an Elimination Final at the MCG. He displayed great promise and began to stake his claim as one of the top young key attackers in the league despite his frail build and inconsistent goalkicking.

Daniher began the 2015 AFL season as the team’s main forward, a difficult position to fill given that it was only his third season of professional sport. Joe improved in several crucial areas of his game, including precision at goal, despite only scoring 34 goals for the entire season. This was possible because former legend Matthew Lloyd assisted Joe with this during the year. He continued to kick more goals for the team and had more presence on the pitch.

He was named to the club’s leadership group in 2016 and concluded the season with a career-high in goals and marks (141). He also continued to develop as a football player and leader (43). He took up the club goalkicking prize for a third year in a row, and he and James Kelly finished second in the W.S. Crichton Trophy.

In the first game of the 2017 AFL season against Geelong, he won the Anzac Day Medal and the first Tom Wills Medal, demonstrating his potential as one of the finest forwards in the competition. He was the team’s top goal scorer for a fourth consecutive season, was named to his first All-Australian Team, and recorded his first victory. The S. Crichton Award.

Daniher had a far smaller impact on the competition overall and started the 2018 AFL season much poorer than the previous year, averaging less than a goal per game. Daniher missed the balance of the season after round 7 due to scans showing early start of osteitis pubis.

Daniher appeared to be on track for a huge 2019 season after a strong preseason, but a puzzling calf injury suffered during training caused him to miss the first four rounds of the AFL season. Daniher had a late call-up for the Bombers in round 5 on Good Friday against the Kangaroos despite not being selected for the round. The Bombers were fined because Daniher was not on Essendon’s initial roster for the round, but Daniher showed his value by kicking two goals, including one from more than 55 meters away. Daniher’s groin injury forced him to miss the rest of 2019 after four games. Daniher asked for a move to Sydney near the end of the 2019 season, however Sydney was unable to meet Essendon’s demands, hence Daniher stayed with Essendon in 2020. Daniher, who was a free agent after the 2020 season, chose to join the Brisbane Lions.

Brisbane Lions (2021–present)

Round 1 of 2021 saw Daniher make his Brisbane Lions debut against Sydney at the Gabba. Kane Cornes, a former player for Port Adelaide, criticized him for his jumper-grabbing celebration following the first of his two goals, which gave the Lions an 18-point lead in a game they would eventually lose by 31 points.

Daniher was the only player in the 2021 season to score at least one goal in every game, but he faded away during their playoff run and scored only once in two games.

Daniher scored the game-winning goal late in Brisbane’s 2022 Elimination Final victory over Richmond, giving the Lions a two-point victory and defeating the Tigers 106-104.
