The characters of Dr. Nick Marsh and Dr. Meredith Grey are introduced to one another for the first time in the medical drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ which airs on ABC. Nick Marsh passes unconscious for the first time a few weeks after receiving a kidney transplant. After what seems like an eternity has passed, they cross paths once more while Meredith is in Minnesota to visit Dr. David Hamilton. They soon develop a sweet friendship for one another, which prepares the path for Nick to come to Grey Sloan. Nick and Meredith work together on the final episode of the eighteenth season to perform a procedure that ultimately has devastating consequences. As a result of the surgery’s outcome, the pair gets into a heated argument, and Meredith ultimately begs him to move to Minnesota.
Nick relocates back to Minnesota, but he eventually finds his way back to Grey Sloan to obtain an organ for his upcoming transplant procedure. After meeting him, Meredith extends an invitation for him to continue his treatment at Grey Sloan Memorial. Will he then agree to the same terms? If that is not the case, might Nick’s potential return to Minnesota be interpreted as an indication of Scott Speedman’s exit from the show? Let us discuss what we each think with relation to the topic at hand.

Will Nick Marsh Return to Minnesota?
Nick visits Grey Sloan in the first episode of the nineteenth season in order to get an organ for a transplant surgery that is set to take place at his place of employment in Minnesota. Meredith confronts Owen and inquires as to whether he would be willing to accompany her through her three-organ transplant operation. Nick is there with her because the procedure is a particularly difficult one. After the operation, Meredith urges Nick to continue at Grey Sloan and offers him the role of Residency Director in exchange for his commitment. Nick is essential to Meredith’s operations at the hospital right now as the institution is suffering from a significant lack of staff to fill the required positions. To further sway Nick in her favor, she presents him with an alluring cash offer.
As a result of Nick’s assurance that he will give the proposition some thought, there is a chance that he will choose to concentrate on completing his residency at Grey Sloan instead of going back to Minnesota. However, his ultimate choice will be determined by how likely it is that he will be able to see Meredith again. When it comes time for Meredith to urge Alex to depart for Minnesota in the final episode of the eighteenth season, the remarkable bond that they have developed is damaged. In spite of this, it can’t be denied that Nick and Meredith have affections for one another. Meredith’s response when she learns that Nick is in the hospital, as well as her efforts to visit him there and spend time with him, are clear indicators of how badly she wants to get back together with Nick.
If Meredith is successful in persuading Nick that she is attempting to restore their relationship, then it is possible that Nick will opt against traveling to Minnesota in order to remain at Grey Sloan and share his life with Meredith. The fact that Nick has stated that he will give Meredith’s offer some thought indicates that he is open to the possibility of accepting it. In the event that this is not the case, Nick may end up asking Meredith to finish moving to Minnesota as she had planned in the beginning. It’s possible that Nick and Meredith will move to Minnesota together once they get engaged. Does this indicate that Scott Speedman won’t be returning to the medical drama? Let’s find out!

Is Scott Speedman Leaving Grey’s Anatomy?
At this time, there are no plans for “Grey’s Anatomy” to part ways with Scott Speedman. In a recent interview, actor Ryan Speedman made it quite apparent that he will continue to be a part of the cast of the program for “a little while.” Due to the fact that he has been relegated from a regular cast member to a recurring cast member, however, Nick Speedman’s character will not be appearing as frequently as we saw him in the eighteenth season. There is a possibility that Nick will leave Grey Sloan, the primary location of the show, and move back to Minnesota as a result of the demotion of Speedman. Ahead of the start of the nineteenth season, it was revealed that Ellen Pompeo’s portrayal of Dr. Meredith Grey will only appear in a total of eight episodes of the show.
Due to Speedman’s dismissal and Pompeo’s decreased screentime, it is possible that Nick and Meredith will move back to Minnesota, although Meredith will likely continue to make occasional trips to Seattle, as she does in the eighteenth season of the show. After the mind-blowing story developments of the eighteenth season finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” we may be pleased that Speedman’s character, Nick, will continue to be a part of the show, despite the fact that he will have less screen time going forward.
