Authorities report that a shooting spree occurred Tuesday night in Chicago’s Washington Park, leaving one person dead and at least six others injured.
A ShotSpotter warning was issued at roughly 7:45 a.m., according to Chicago police. A witness claimed to have heard around 20 gunshots at that precise moment, while the investigation is still in its early stages.
When the shooting happened, there were two groups in the park, and the police claim that a fight resulted in a shooting spree.
Seven persons were shot in total, with one of them dying as a result, according to the police.
No immediate update on the condition of the other gunshot victims was given.
The Chicago Fire Department said that at least three patients were transferred to nearby hospitals in critical condition. It is currently unknown how those victims are currently feeling.
The police are offering a $15,000 prize for information relating to the incident. When leaving a tip, callers can remain anonymous by phoning 833-408-0069.

According to reports from the Chicago Police Department, a shooting that took place on Tuesday evening in Washington Park resulted in the deaths of two persons and left seven others injured.
Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan stated during a news conference that took place early on Wednesday morning that “we believe people have information on who the shooters were, and we need the public’s help.”
According to statements made by Deputy Chief Fred Melean of the Chicago Police Department during a news conference held at the park directly across the street from the emergency room of UChicago Medicine, two groups of people were present at the park just before 8 p.m. when a fight broke out between the two groups of people and shots were fired.
According to the police, when emergency medical services arrived at the scene on East 51st Street and South Champlain Avenue, they transported six people to UChicago Medicine: five males and one woman.
According to Deenihan, more than 40 shot casings were found, but no firearms were discovered. The police have concluded that “it is likely a gang-related battle,” but there is not yet sufficient evidence to determine whose gang the victims belonged to or which individuals among them were responsible for the killing. According to Deenihan, there was apparently not a significant amount of video footage of the shooting.
According to the police, a 19-year-old guy who had been wounded in the right shoulder brought himself to Insight Hospital, where he was evaluated and listed as being in good condition. Another guy, age 46, and a woman, age 33, who were both in good condition brought themselves to the UChicago Medicine emergency room. The man’s right calf and the lady’s right arm both had grazing wounds.

After receiving many gunshot wounds to his body, the medical examiner’s office and the police said that he was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m. and that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. Nobody has been able to put a name to him yet.
