Spider-Gwen Cosplay Showcases Ghost-Spider’s Best Ever Costumes

A skilled cosplayer has put together a large collection of Spider-many Gwen’s heroic outfits. This shows how diverse Earth-65’s Gwen Stacy is and how many roles she has played since her debut in 2014. In Earth-616’s continuity, Gwen Stacy was killed brutally by the Green Goblin, which broke Peter Parker’s heart for a long time. It looks like 616’s Gwen may be coming back for the ongoing Judgment Day event, but the debut of Spider-Gwen was a brilliant way to bring Stacy back into Marvel Comics without changing this important story.

Spider-Gwen, also known as Spider-Woman, Gwen Stacy, and Ghost-Spider, was introduced in 2014 as part of the first Edge of Spider-Verse event. She quickly became one of the most popular new Spider-characters in the Marvel Multiverse. Since then, Spider-Gwen has become a powerful ally to both Earth-65 and Earth-616’s heroes. She travels back and forth between the two worlds to deal with her own versions of classic Spider-Man enemies like Venom, Carnage, and the Jackal.

Kate, who goes by the name Stacy Cosplays, is a cosplay artist. She has worked with Web Warriors Workshop, which makes Spider-Man costumes, to make beautiful custom versions of some of Spider-most Gwen’s famous outfits, like her normal Ghost-Spider outfit and the “Reverse Gwen” costume, which flips the colours of the hero’s classic look. Gwen has had to deal with many enemies, including the Venom symbiote, since she became Ghost-Spider after being bitten by the radioactive spider on Earth-65 and seeing her Peter Parker die. Gwen became “Gwenom” after bonding with the Venom symbiote. It was a scary but epic journey for the young hero, and the story is beautifully retold in Stacy Cosplays’ iconic version of the Gwenom look, which you can see below:

Spider-Gwen

Spider-Gwen has had many different looks since her first appearance in 2014. However, many of them come from variant covers and not from actual plots that Ghost-Spider was in. For example, Stacy Cosplay’s beautiful recreation of a Carnage-bonded Ghost-Spider may have been inspired by Iban Coello’s Carnage-ized variant cover for Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #10. Another example is Stacy Cosplay’s amazing recreation of “Anti-Gwenom,” a Spider-Gwen version of Earth-616’s classic anti-hero Anti-Venom. “Anti-Gwenom” only appeared on the cover of Edge of Venom-Verse, but it has amazing details like Anti-black-tendriled Venom’s fingers. In fact, all of Stacy Cosplay’s costumes, especially the ones she’s made with Web Warriors Workshop, have great details. For example, each of Ghost-different Spider’s looks has beautiful webs and designs on the body. Bengal’s version of “Spider-Gwen 2099,” which was drawn as a variant cover for Ghost-Spider #4, is one of Spider-best Gwen’s looks.

Spider-Gwen

With the recent Gwen-Verse series, Spider-Gwen has been dealing with even more different versions of herself across the Marvel Multiverse. This means that the talented Stacy Cosplays has an even wider range of costumes to choose from, including Gwen-Thor and Gwenverine. Spider-Gwen is a character who has always been a part of the Multiverse, so she has a nearly endless number of beautiful costumes to choose from. The cosplay artist Stacy Cosplays has done a great job of reimagining and styling many of Gwen Stacy’s best alternate costumes. She shows how the constantly changing look of a hero is a key part of the Spider-Verse and its endless possibilities.

Gwen Stacy is the famous wall-climber on Earth-65, an alternate universe. She got her name, “Spider-Woman” or “Spider-Gwen,” after being bitten by the famous radioactive spider.

When Gwen’s friend Peter Parker, who looked up to Spider-Woman, dies in a botched science experiment, her father blames Spider-Woman and starts looking for her as a criminal. Even though she accepts Parker’s death, she wears her mask as a badge to honour his memory and go where she is needed most.

HER STORY

Gwen Stacy grew up in Earth-65 with her parents, Helen and NYPD Captain George Stacy, in Forest Hills. Her mother dies, so Captain Stacy is the only one who takes care of her.

She became friends with Peter Parker, who lived next door, and they both went to Midtown High School. There, she also became friends with Harry Osborn, Mary Jane Watson, and Betty and Glory Grant. The other three girls and Gwen got together to form a band called the Mary Janes.

When a radioactive spider bit Gwen and gave her spider-like powers, her life changed. She tried to keep her new powers a secret from her family and friends, and she kept playing drums with the Mary Janes. Gwen also didn’t get along with her dad, who wanted her to think less about music and more about the future.

Parker, who looked up to Spider-Woman, tried to turn himself into a Lizard-like creature with chemicals. This was a terrible idea. He lost control and attacked a school dance. Spider-Woman tried to stop him, but she died in the process. She was unfairly blamed for his death and was hunted by the law. Her own father led the NYPD investigation to catch the killer vigilante.

On the Kingpin’s order, Hand leader Matt Murdock sent assassin Aleksei Sytsevich (the Rhino) after Captain Stacy during a Mary Janes concert. After Spider-Woman beat him, her father held a gun to her head. He quit the investigation after she told him who she was. Gwen worked twice as hard to stop crime after Peter’s death. She was haunted by his death and felt a sense of responsibility.

Arachnid Abilities

Spider-Gwen has all the powers of Spider-Man because she was bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker on Earth-616. She is as quick, agile, and strong as a spider, and she can stick to walls. Janet van Dyne, a retired crime fighter, gave Gwen a suit and web shooters. Her “spidey sense” tells her when danger is close.

Buggy Bad Guys

Gwen Stacy’s Spider-Woman always has to deal with enemies, like the corrupt lawyer and leader of the Hand, Matt Murdock, whose gangster client, the Kingpin, runs things from prison. Kingpin’s attempt to kill Captain Stacy is what makes Gwen tell her father about her double life.

Battleworld’s Mayor Norman Osborn wants to use the Web of Life and Destiny to do bad things, but Gwen has never trusted him. She meets a long-lost Peter Parker from another universe, and he and the Web-Warriors work together to defeat him.

Friendly Neighbors

Gwen often works with other spider-like people in the Spider-Verse, like Jessica Drew, the Spider-Woman from Earth-616, and Morales. During the Great Hunt, she is one of the first spider-totems to join Spider U.K.’s Spider-Army to fight the Inheritors.

Gwen also has a lot of help from her family and friends back home. Her father, Captain George Stacy, at first wanted to catch Spider-Woman, but when he found out who she was, he sided with his daughter. She is also close with the Mary Janes, Peter Parker, and Harry Osborn, who are also in her band.

The Web-Warriors are a group of Spider-Totems from all over the Multiverse that Gwen works with to protect the fallen from the end of the universe. They work against Mayor Norman Osborn, and after the universe is fixed, she uses a portal device to jump between universes when she needs advice from other Spider-People.

Spidey’s New Spin

Spider-Woman joined forces with the Spider-Army to stop Morlun and the Inheritors from eating spider-beings all over the Multiverse. After she beat them, she went back to her normal life, where she didn’t have time for her band and a new bad guy, the Vulture, was on the run.

Gwen’s father, Captain Stacy, didn’t like what she was doing as Spider-Woman, so he told her that the tough-as-nails NYPD cop Frank Castle (also known as the Punisher) would be taking over the vigilante investigation. During their talk, Vulture attacked with gas that made Gwen unable to feel anything. She went after him until she ran into Castle, who found out who she was. He was shocked to find out that she was “just a girl.” She bounced back and got away from him.

She kept helping people, but a lot of people didn’t trust her. She was sad about Peter’s death and had to deal with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May at the same time. May told Gwen that she saw Spider-Woman trying to help after Peter died. This gave Gwen some hope that she could still fight crime, so she rejoined her band. During an attack on Murdock at one of the band’s shows, Murdock admitted to helping the Vulture hurt Captain Stacy and hinted that he knew who Spider-Woman was.

When the Multiverse was destroyed, Gwen ended up on a planet made of different parts called Battleworld. Mayor Norman Osborn was in charge of that planet. She fought crime as Spider-Gwen on this new world, but her memories were all mixed up. Gwen joined the Spider-Totems from other worlds to fight the Sinister Six. Together, they beat Osborn and protect the Web of Life and Destiny by beating the Sinister Six. They called themselves “Web-Warriors,” and they use their powers to fight for the fallen.

Gwen went back to Earth-65 and saw that the Lizard was back. This made her wonder if Peter Parker had really died. She found out that Dr. Curtis Connors and one of many other lizards were the real bad guys. She fought them, but S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Samantha Wilson/Captain America caught her and put her in jail.

Gwen went to Earth-616 to find out about her counterpart. There, she met Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), who reminded her of the lessons she had learned about being responsible. When she went back to her Earth, she saw that Harry Osborn had come back from the army and had been trained by S.H.I.E.L.D. He revealed his vendetta against Spider-Woman for killing Peter.

Osborn took the same serum that Parker did, which gave him more strength. He took off Spider-mask Woman’s to show his friend Gwen. Even though Captain America helped, it was Gwen who stopped the Green Goblin’s plan for revenge and gave him a second chance. By working with Captain America, she made a new friend.

Gwen’s father, Captain Stacy, still had trouble with the fact that she had two lives, but he eventually accepted it and quit his job to focus on being her father.

Then, Spider-Gwen fought Cindy Moon with Silk and a Spider-Woman from Earth-616 who had come to visit. Moon said she made the spider that gave Spider-Gwen her powers and then gave her an injection that took them away. Jesse Drew, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who used to work with Moon and then quit, helped Spider-Gwen temporarily get her powers back.

Even though she was about to lose her powers, she got back in touch with her friends. Castle attacked her when he found out who she was. Spider-Gwen was saved by her father, but he could not stop Castle, so he could only protect her for a short time. He tried to kill Gwen again, but was stopped when he turned himself in to the police and said that he helped Spider-Woman.

When Spider-Man, Miles Morales, came to Earth-65 to look for his missing father, Gwen joined him. They saw a world in the future where they were married and had kids. They thought about dating each other, but decided to stay friends instead.

Gwen’s father wouldn’t say he was innocent or deny the charges against him, so she worked with Murdock to get her powers back and help Osborn in the process. Murdock betrayed her, and she bonded with the Venom symbiote as a result. She attacked Murdock, and he told her that the Rhino had beaten her father so badly that he was in a coma. This news made her agree to the bond, and she changed into Gwenom to get back at Murdock.

She also fought against her allies, like Captain America, and had to decide whether to beat Murdock and the Kingpin or get out of Venom’s hold.
