Ryan Day’s Early Life and Parents

Day was born to Raymond Day and Lisa Day in Manchester, New Hampshire, on March 12, 1979. Mr. Raymond died when Ryan was quite young, thus he was unable to experience his affection for him. He consequently had a difficult and stressful childhood that contributed to his mental health problems.

Day’s single mother was left to raise him when his father committed suicide on January 20, 1988. Day’s father went away when he was nine years old, leaving him with Chris and Tim, two younger brothers.

Professionals assisted him in overcoming his mental health problems as an adult, but he still feels that many individuals are still reluctant to discuss their problems in public and prefer to keep them to themselves.

Ryan views this as a significant issue and is convinced that there must be a solution. He uses his money and life savings to fund organizations that aim to eradicate this kind of problem encountered by people with mental illnesses.

Net Worth of Ryan Day in 2022

He is among the top-paid football coaches in the country. His yearly salary as Ohio State University’s head coach is $7.6 million, according to Wikipedia. He has focused his efforts on assisting those who are suffering from mental illness as part of his commitment to giving back to the community.

As part of the On Our Sleeves campaign, he and his wife Nina established a fund at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for mental health for kids and teenagers. They contributed $1 million to studies on mental health in August of last year.

In order to support services and research in the area of mental health, the Day couple has committed to donate $1 million to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine this year. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health will house the administrative headquarters of the Christina and Ryan Day Resilience Fund.

Where Is Ryan Day Now?

Ryan resides in his house in Ohio, USA, with his family. He didn’t have a happy childhood, so he wants to give his kids everything. Day was raised by his lone mother, Lisa Day, after his father, Raymond Day, committed suicide on January 20, 1988.

On June 5, 2019, Day made his first public revelation that his father had died by suicide when he was nine years old. Day talked on how he went from being a little kid who was full of resentment and envy to an adult who now understands the terrible effects that mental illness can have on both the person and the family.

Above all else, he wanted to eliminate the stigma that young people in today’s society still attach to having a mental condition and openly discussing it. Since Day took over as head coach at Ohio State, he and his wife have chosen to collaborate with a nonprofit committed to eradicating that stigma by wearing it on our sleeves.
