Who is Patricia Silberstein?
Patricia Silberstein was born in Yonkers, New York, in the month of October in 1953. In 1974, Patricia was working as an employee at a Wall Street Bank at the age of 20. She was a remarkable worker who excelled in both ambition and diligence. Patricia’s new workplace is where she became acquainted with Anthony “Tony” Wojcik, who was 26 years old at the time. The two immediately connected with one another. Both were going through their own divorces at the time, and after only one month of dating, they moved in together.
Patricia was aware that Tony had a passion for jewelry and frequently presented him with gold chains and rings as presents. Even more shockingly, she got a tattoo of his name during a time when such a thing was much less commonplace than it is today. Within a short period of time, the allure began to dwindle in a gradual manner. Patricia came to the conclusion that Tony’s commitment to her was simply superficial when he began meeting other women and made no attempt to conceal this fact from her. He was a nasty alcoholic in addition to being unfaithful, which was his other major flaw in character.
Tony suffered with alcoholism. Throughout the course of the day, he was drinking alcohol. When Patricia accidentally poured the contents of his bottle out the window one day, he physically assaulted her and battered her fairly severely. Patricia began to see Tony for who he really was not long after. In 1976, she severed her relationship with him, quit from her work, and relocated to Mount Vernon, New York. Patricia and her brother opened an auto repair firm together in that location. In addition to that, she started dating a new man.
On the other hand, Tony wouldn’t just abandon her like that. He continued to phone her and bother her, and at one point he even threatened her. At one point, he ran into her outside and confronted her. When she got into her car, he attacked it, shattered the window, and stole her chains and other jewels. In the end, Patricia came to the conclusion that she would handle the situation on her own. On May 19, 1976, Patricia gave Tony her consent to meet, but only under certain conditions. She drove him to her store after picking him up in her car and taking him there. She stated that on that day Tony was also drunk, and that he attempted to kiss her in an aggressive manner.
Patricia asserted that Tony smacked her across the face after she turned down his approaches after she became repulsed by him. On the other hand, she was well prepared this time. She managed to get away from him, grab a baton that was stored beside the driver’s seat, and make a break for the Mount Vernon incinerator, which was located on the property immediately adjacent to her shop. Tony, who was intoxicated at the time, attempted to chase after her but stumbled and fell down the staircase. Patricia had her baton ready, and she began to beat him until she broke his skull and caused his brain to start spilling out.
Patricia, in a state of panic, threw him inside of one of the incinerators and ran away from the scene as blood was splattered everywhere. She went to his residence in the Bronx, which was located at 125 Mount Hope Place, and made it appear as though someone had broken in and stolen his belongings. Tony, however, was still alive, and he was able to crawl out of the cave. He continued to bleed out until he passed out from hypovolemic shock. When the police came, it didn’t take them long to realize that the suspect’s ex-girlfriend worked in the building next door to where the crime occurred.
Is Patricia Silberstein Alive Today?
After being hauled in for interrogation, Patricia sobbed and admitted that she was responsible for the crime. In May of 1976, she was taken into custody and put on trial for murder in the second degree. In July of 1977, a jury found her guilty of manslaughter, and she was sentenced to more than 22 years in prison for her crime. The judge who handed down her sentence said the following: “Patricia Silberstein was 22 years, 7 months, and 6 days old on the day that Anthony Wojcik was murdered.” He continued by saying, “The jury felt that intent to murder was not established,” and that would be the sentence that she would get.
Nevertheless, because she filed an appeal against her sentence, it was reduced to fifteen years. After serving the entirety of her term, she was finally freed in the year 1992. Her passing was due to natural causes and occurred in her early 40s, three years after her release in 1995.
